  • Jancerie Labradors is a small, family kennel, based in Tomarata just an hour north of Auckland. 

   

  • Owned and run by Alison Battrick, Jancerie is dedicated to producing pedigree British Labrador Retrievers of excellent temperament and sound health. All of Jancerie’s dogs come exclusively from British bloodlines and are registered with the KCJ & NZKC.

   

  • Born & bred on the Island of Jersey, Alison moved to New Zealand in November 2008, together with her ‘family’ - 2 children and 7 dogs. All have thrived in their new habitat and Jancerie is now well established in its adopted home.

 

  • Alison is also a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 30 years experience in small animal care. She is a founder member of the New Zealand Kennel Club accredited breeder scheme. 

A word from Alison... 

  

“Labradors have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Our very first Lab pup was a present for my 5th birthday, a beautiful pale yellow girl who grew up to be the most wonderful pet a family could wish for. She left such a cavernous hole in our lives when she died some 10 years later that it wasn't long before we got another wee Lab pup.... there has been a Labrador in our family ever since! 

   

My decision to breed Labs was based on the desire to provide good quality, healthy pups for good quality loving families! There is nothing more rewarding than to see a puppy welcomed into a loving family home, knowing that he/she will become a treasured member of that family, and will bring as much pleasure to the new owners as my Labs have given me. 

      

Regarded as the ideal family dog for generations, the Labrador is by definition, biddable & adaptable to almost any lifestyle. The UK Kennel Club Breed Standard describes the Labrador as "Good tempered, adaptable, devoted companion, intelligent, keen & biddable, with a strong will to please. A kindly nature with no trace of aggression or shyness."  It is no surprise then that the Labrador is such a popular breed worldwide & in my opinion there is no dog better suited to family life.

 

When my son asked for a 'big black dog' for his 5th birthday, there was no doubt in my mind as to which breed it would be...... "Taz" as he named her, was the foundation of Jancerie Labradors.
